AGENCY LIST PAge (practicum agency research)
Now that you have set up your Student Detail page, let's take a look at the Agency List page. Click on the Agency List tab on the top middle of the page to view all of our participating agencies.
By default, this page lists Agencies that begin with the letters A-B. You will notice on the top of the page a menu allowing you to view agencies that begin with certain sections of the alphabet or view all agencies by clicking the A-Z link.
Next click on the name of an Agency that you want to investigate. This will direct you to that Agency's detail page. Here we ask our agencies to fill in basic contact information that you will you when first making contact with an Agency. Also provided is a space where the Agency may fill in its Web site address and provide Internship Information - a background about the agency and what kinds of learning opportunities you may expect via a practicum.
All of this information is provided by the Agency itself. The School of Social Work works with our agencies to encourage them to input detailed information and keep this information current in order to find the best match between student and agency. If no information is provided and the Practicum Director has encouraged you to explore that Agency, please contact the School of Social Work for contact information.
Also, if you know of an Agency that you wish to serve your practicum and it isn't on this list, make an appointment with the Practicum Director and the School of Social Work will explore whether that Agency meets the qualifications for hosting a practicum student.
Note: Students may not contact any Agency to inquire about practicum possibilites until first meeting with the Practicum Director. Contact the School of Social Work at 208-426-1568 to set up an interview.
Setting up agency preferences
At the bottom of any Agency Detail page is a link ADD as Preference. By clicking this link, you Student Detail page will be populated with this Agency as one of your preferences. When you meet with the Practicum Director, these agencies will be available for viewing as a starting point for discussions for your practicum placement and assists the Fieldwork staff with the placement process.
