Outstanding Quarterback, Boise State 1997-2000

Bart Hendricks is another in a long list of outstanding quarterbacks to play football at Boise State University. In 2000 as a senior, Hendricks led the nation in passing efficiency with a rating of 170.63, completing 210 of 347 passes (60.5%) for 3,364 yards. Along with leading all NCAA I-A quarterbacks in efficiency his senior season, Hendricks also led the country in touchdown passes with 35 and points responsible for, averaging 22.9 points per game. He completed his Bronco career completing 650 of 1,142 passes for 9,030 yards and 78 touchdowns. A finalist for the 2000 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Hendricks was named the Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 1999 and 2000. He also earned first team All-Big West honors and five times received league player of the week awards as a senior. In his final collegiate game, Hendricks led Boise State to a 38-20 win over Texas-El Paso in the Humanitarian Bowl and was named the Bronco’s Most Valuable Player of the game. When he completed his Boise State career at the end of the 2000 season, Hendricks held 10 Bronco single season and career records. At the time of his induction in 2007, he still held the school records for career pass completions (650); season touchdown passes (35) and career 200-yard plus passing games (28).
