Four times Troy Kemp earned NCAA All-American honors in the high jump during his track and field career at Boise State. Kemp’s highest NCAA finish came in 1988 at the national indoor championship when he placed runner-up with a 7-6 jump. His other All-American awards came following third place NCAA finishes at the 1987 indoor and outdoor, and 1988 outdoor national championships. A five time Big Sky Conference Champion, Kemp won the indoor and outdoor high jump titles in 1987 and 1988, along with capturing the 1987 indoor long jump crown. Kemp holds the school record in the indoor high jump at 7-6, and has the second best all-time Bronco mark in the outdoor high jump (7-5 ¾), indoor long jump (25-5 ¾), and outdoor long jump (25-1 ¾). He is also the Big Sky Conference outdoor championship meet record holder in the high jump at 7-4. Following his career at Boise State, Kemp excelled at the international level winning the high jump at the 1995 World Track and Field Championships. Kemp is a three-time Olympian competing in the 1988 Seoul Games, the 1992 Barcelona Games and the 1996 Atlanta Games. His all-time best mark in the high jump is 7-9 ¾.
