Parking Update - Summer Months

MAINTENANCE

To keep your parking lots looking their best, each year Transportation and Parking Services uses the summer to perform essential maintenance tasks throughout campus. Transportation and Parking maintenance teams will be using high-pressure washers and paint machines to perform maintenance tasks. For everyone's safety all traffic including vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle and skateboard traffic will be prohibited from entering the designated maintenance area. Designated maintenance areas are clearly marked off by barricades, flagging and signage. We appreciate your patience and cooperation walking around the designated area to get to your destination. For a complete summer maintenance schedule please visit the Transportation and Parking Services website at www.boisestate.edu/parking.

May 31-June 11 (may be extended due to weather)
Towers Reserve and Morrison Center Lots will be re-stripped and the curbs repainted. The Towers Reserve and the Morrison Center Lot will be closed for maintenance from 9:00PM, Sunday May 31st until 6:00AM, Monday June 11th pending weather conditions. During this time all T, MC and Morrison Center Event Staff permits will be honored in the Brady Parking Garage.

June10-26
Maintenance will be completed through out the month in a majority of the parking lots on campus. Clearly defined areas will be blocked off by our maintenance teams. For your safety please stay out of the restricted areas. The bulk of the work will not affect parking in the lots and will not result in lot closures.

June 28-July 10
The West Stadium Lot, portions of Bronco Circle, Engineering and Tech Lot, Business Building Lot located off of Cesar Chavez and Science Dr. located east of Public Affairs West will be closed for a resurfacing of the parking lots and drive ways. These repairs are essential to maintain the lots. Reserved permit holders will be allowed to park in General Permit areas during the resurfacing. Additional information regarding these lot closures will be e-mailed out to the permit holders.

CONSTRUCTION

Due to the construction of the CESED building no parking will be allowed on Euclid St. between University Dr. and Belmont St. Access to the Engineering and Tech lot will be accessible by University Dr., traveling South on Euclid St. North bound traffic on Euclid will be restricted between Belmont St. and University Dr. The time frame for the redirection of traffic will be extended through April 2011.

EVENTS

June 19
A portion of the West Stadium will be blocked off for the K-Hits birthday bash. Doors open at 6:30PM, increased traffic will be present on our campus starting at 6PM.

June 12 & 13
The Morrison Center will be hosting the Miss Idaho Pageant. Parking for this event will be available in the Towers Lots and the Brady Parking Garage starting at 6PM.

TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE - MORRISON CENTER
:
Between May & October, Cesar Chavez Ln., passing in front of the main entrance, will likely be barricaded from prior to lobby opening through intermission during Morrison Center events. Patron drop-off point shifts to Danny Peterson/academic entrance near the southeast parking lot.

SOME GOOD NEWS................

Additional general spaces have been added to the Stadium lots for the summer months. The Towers general area will also be increased after maintenance is completed in the lot. Please check the signs in the lots for the extended general areas.

Motorcycle/Scooter/Bicycle Awareness

The weather is nice and greater numbers of visitors, students and staff are enjoying in the freedom and fun of riding a two wheeled vehicle. All automobile drivers must be alert to these less visible modes of transportation. Always look twice at intersections, parking lot aisles, as well as all entries and exits from our many access points on campus. We must ensure that mutual respect and increased awareness for these vehicles exist on our campus.
