Campus Web Group meeting

LAMP Update

Project is approved, team is formed, first meeting has been held Team consists of System Engineers, Application Administrators, Web Administrators, and Help Desk. Others may participate ad hoc. Details at the kickoff.

There will be one or more kickoff meetings to the campus community. That's what to watch for next.

Schedule: none yet. Sequence is clear enough, though. First we have to make some strategic architecture and policy decisions, then we start setting up the machines, configuring, etc. Getting the place ready. Then we can start talking to various site owners, in some sort of order, and working out an actual schedule.

More as information becomes available.

Site Management Update

A brief look at a couple of pilot sites.

The site management tool will be in place at rollout, but it will become available to individual departments only at the time of their move.

Official Word

We're just building a site, but when it's ready we will notify the CWG. There will be a single location for all docs. Go here for the webmaster's blog. Go here for the user forums. Neither of these are ready yet, either.

Pay no attention to rumor. If you have a question, consult the site. If you still have a question, post to the forum.

Issues

We know there will be many. Use the forum for raising your concerns.

In some cases, we will solicit ideas. In some cases, we will present an issue to discuss. In some cases, we will make a recommendation but invite comment.
