Post-Tenure Review Policy Revision

A faculty committee will be formed to revise the current University Policy 4380, Periodic Review of Tenured Faculty. This committee will be chaired by Assistant Provost Michelle Payne, based on best practices from other institutions, American Association of University Professors (AAUP) guidelines, State Board of Education (SBOE) policies, and the particular context of tenured faculty at Boise State. The committee will also review and suggest revisions to the Professorial Award proposal that will be tied to the periodic review process.

Committee Membership and Meeting Schedule

Members must be nominated to serve on the committee (self-nominations included). Committee members must be tenured faculty who are available to meet virtually on Fridays between noon and 1:15 p.m. during the Fall semester on all dates: October 7, October 14, October 28, November 11, and December 2 (with December 2 being the target date for completed documents). Members may also be administrative faculty such as department chairs/heads/directors, associate chairs, and associate deans. The committee must also include at least one Faculty Senator, if not more.

Committee Materials

Assistant Provost Michelle Payne assembled materials from other institutions, the AAUP, and the SBOE for the committee to use as resources during the process. The Assistant Provost also has possible revision drafts available as a starting point for committee members.
