At Boise State we honor and respect the autonomy of faculty in making choices for syllabi and course materials. We also recognize the need for guidance in course planning and responding to unusual circumstances that may affect your courses.
Teaching Guides
The following guides are provided to help faculty make decisions and plan for the unexpected, including inclement weather, public health emergencies and other contexts that may require unique responses. University login is required to access these guides.
Boise State Syllabus Template
Your syllabus frames your course, sparks student interest, and communicates key policies. Boise State does not require a standard format, but the syllabus template and guide, maintained by the Center for Teaching and Learning, provide a helpful resource for designing or updating your syllabus.
Check with your chair/program lead for program-specific language. For general education courses, see University Foundations; for online courses, contact the eCampus Center.
