Are you checking the tab order of your slides?

  • The Rule: A screen reader reads elements in the order they were added to the slide, not the visual top-to-bottom order.
  • The Check: Are you checking the tab order? The order a screen reader reads content should match the logical flow of the content.
  • Action: On any complex slide (with images, charts, and bullet points), press the Tab key repeatedly. If the focus jumps around illogically, use Grackle Slides to update the Slide Structure or the Reading Order tool in PowerPoint.
