    • Early Career Workshop on Workload and Allocation of Effort (November 15th,

      2PM, Bergquist Ballroom SUB)

      • Bob: Ideally, we will have a clinical faculty member on the panel as well.
        • Action Item: By Thursday, Nov. 8, please submit any names of a seasoned
clinical faculty member who might be willing to serve on the Nov. 15th
          workshop panel (if any.)
    • SAHS Spotlight Series

      • Departmental presentations
        • Cynnie Curl (Nov. 1, 3 PM, Hatch A.)
        • Call for new awardees
          • Action Item: By Thursday, Nov. 8 (with the exception of Lillian),
please submit the name of at least one, but no more than three, individuals who the School might “spotlight” this Spring. The spotlight need not necessarily be on Scholarship, but if you have a faculty member who has made some notable scholarly contributions (e.g., recently received federal funding or perhaps national recognition), then the School would like them to be considered.
        • Invited Lecturers
          • Spring 2019: Robert Pangrazi, Faculty Emeritus, Arizona State
Univ. (looking at the week of April 15th)

            • Bob: Intent is to create a presence in the community by
bringing in a scholar. In this case, to share ideas and promote
              physical activity in youth.
          • Open call for 2020 lecturers
            • Will recirculate information / Call to Action about this
  • Old Business

    • BB 2 FY_20 requests, processes, and presentations (All)

      • Bob: Presenting to Dean and other leaders. Thinking Nov. 29. Willing to work around schedules for those that cannot attend.
      • Bob: Sending a list of possible metrics that we might use to evaluate the
health/progress of our programs. What do you see as quality indicators?

        • Action Item: By Thursday, Nov. 8, please submit suggestions for additions to the list of possible metrics we might use to evaluate the health/progress of our programs. (Will be sending an attachment)
      • Lillian: Add “High Reliance on Adjuncts” to CEH Pressure Points. May need to adjust Budget Model; the predicted baseline is inaccurate.
    • Dept. Chair and School Director Selection Processes (All)

      • Bob: Should Clinical Faculty be a part of the voting process? Would like to see them included so it is the same across departments.
      • Bob: Edited the proposed university policy for chair selection to be
considered for our SAHS policy. Please consider this a “straw-man” that is
intended only to give us a starting point that is not inconsistent with university policy.

        • Action Item: By Thursday, Nov. 8, please submit any suggested edits you
may have to the proposed university policy for chair selection.
      • Planning and Evaluation processes for School Director, Heads/Chairs (All)
  • New Business

    • Discussion about Strategic Plans and timetable for School Plan

      • Updates on any strategic plans you may be working with.
        • Bob: Would like a timeline for developing Strategic Plans for the
school with enough time. May try to have drafted by the end of the year.
      • Quality indicators that interest you (data mining)
      • Marketing Analysis Discussion
      • Marketing Strategies: Social media, video production, hard copies, etc.
        • Bob: Would like to have a Spring event to support programs. We need to
decide marketing strategy – hard-copy assets with QR Codes a possibility.
        • Bob: We’ll be hiring a student for social network support. Would like
departments to give student content they’d like to include in the future.
        • Lillian: CEH does a lot of their own marketing. (Lizzie and Chelsea).
        • Department contacts for marketing:
          • Resp Care: Naomi Sallay
          • Rad Sci: Sue Antonich
          • CEH: Maria Tellez
          • Kines: TBD
          • Gen: Susie Seltzer

Other notes

  • Lutana:

    • Would like to discuss Market Analysis (ran out of time.)
  • Joie:

    • Would like to make HSR 101 Conference Room Zoom accessible by adding
video/audio hardware. Priced at $200/month through campus, or we can purchase our own hardware but would be more maintenance.
