Adrian Alvi’s lifelong passion for food started early. He was cooking dinner for his family by age 8 and spent the first 14 years of his career as a professional chef, baker and cake decorator. After earning a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Boise State, he spent 15 years working in corporate IT with HP and Boise Cascade. While learning about information systems and corporate structure, he continued to explore his love of food by studying spices, cultures, ingredients and cooking techniques from around the world.
In 2015, Boise Cascade sold his division, and he was laid off. He used that moment to pursue a new concept in cooking: using seasonings to make food easier, healthier and more flavorful to prepare. After sharing his blends with friends, neighbors and family during the holidays, the response made it clear the idea had broader potential.
That feedback led him to launch Save the Day Seasonings.
Founded in 2015 and manufactured in Meridian, Idaho, Save the Day offers 18 seasoning blends, including its flagship product, Alvi’s Incredible® all-purpose seasoning. The lineup includes options for a range of tastes and needs, from ethnic and spicy to mild, low-salt and no-salt blends, as well as seasonings designed for grilling, seafood and everyday cooking. The blends are all-natural, gluten-free, vegan-friendly and made without MSG, additives, fillers, dyes or preservatives.
Alvi is the CEO, founder and product visionary for Save the Day, which is now available in 17 states through a direct sales business model and online at savethedayseasonings.com. The recent release of Save the Day Sweetenings and the Universal Baking Mix expands the brand’s offerings, giving home cooks additional tools to simplify everyday meals and scratch dessert-making.
