Anna Sparrell

Anna Sparrell is vice president and partner of CM Company, Inc., where she has spent over two decades shaping schools, libraries, civic buildings and community spaces across Idaho. A 2003 graduate of Boise State’s construction management program, Sparrell has anchored her career in CM Company’s motto: “The first thing we build is your trust.” For Sparrell, every project is defined not only by quality construction, but by the integrity, collaboration and relationships that make lasting partnerships possible.
Sparrell’s journey began as a construction laborer while attending Boise State, instilling a lifelong appreciation for the craftsmanship and dedication of on-site tradespeople. That hands-on experience forged her collaborative leadership philosophy: the belief that the strongest communities are built when people are empowered to succeed together. Today, alongside guiding CM Company’s strategic direction and overseeing complex public and private builds, Sparrell is an industry trailblazer. In 2022, she became only the second woman in the 90-year history of the Idaho Associated General Contractors to serve as president, spearheading statewide workforce development and education initiatives.
While proud of the facilities she has delivered, Sparrell considers investing in people her greatest accomplishment. She actively serves on the Boise State CM Industry Advisory Council, mentors departmental interns, supports the Women in Construction Engineering and Design (W.I.C.E.D.) program and serves on the Board of Women Innovators. Her civic dedication also includes Rotary leadership, participating in a Group Study Exchange to South Korea and co-founding the Boise Centennial Rotary Club. Her impact has earned honors including Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40 and inclusion in the Incredible Idaho Women Book.
A proud lifelong Idahoan, Sparrell enjoys hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking across Idaho’s landscapes. As the 17th woman to graduate from Boise State’s construction management program, receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award is deeply meaningful. Sparrell credits her journey to the mentors and community who supported her, and she remains committed to paying that investment forward to the next generation.
