Biography

Addison Hobson spent her undergraduate career exploring physics and working to improve the student experience on campus. As a freshman, she started her research career working in a biophysics membrane lab on cancer drug delivery research. After biophysics, Hobson did summer research in magnetics for a solar physics outreach program in Montana. Her current work with Boise State’s Forensic Geoscience Hub is building procedures for forensic and archaeological geophysics surveys in the Treasure Valley. Each new experience has built Hobson’s love for interdisciplinary and collaborative research.

Outside of the lab, Hobson strives to build an open and inviting community for current and future students. As a resident assistant in Boise State’s Housing and Residence Life, she helps hundreds of students build their home away from home. As an outreach specialist in Boise State’s AstroTAC program, Hobson brought NASA science to over 100 schools and communities across Idaho. Her work as a member of the Physics Student Advisory Board and the vice president of the Physics Club brought more opportunities for students to engage and build meaningful connections with students and faculty in their department.

Hobson is from Pocatello, Idaho.
