Biography

Allison Hampton is known by the Boise State community as a leader, scholar and mentor. During her freshman year, Hampton joined the Boise State Talkin’ Broncos Speech and Debate team. She would eventually be elected president and lead the Talkin’ Broncos through two undefeated seasons and their first national championship in seven years, including four individual national championships of her own.

During her junior and senior years, Hampton worked on both an academic and literary journal as a copyeditor. This work led her to pursue her own research on social media fan culture, climate denialism and haunted stories in Boise, even creating Boise State’s first performance panel at the undergraduate research showcase. On top of her academic and scholarly achievements, Hampton is also a published author, with her work featured in The Cabin’s 2025 anthology of Idaho writers.

Above all, Hampton is passionate about access and education, values that play a role in her research and accomplishments, but also in her role as a peer academic coach and academic support mentor for the Advising and Academic Support Center. There, she helps connect students to the resources and skills they need to thrive academically. Her commitment to fostering academic success in others reflects the same leadership and scholarly excellence that have defined her own journey at Boise State.

Hampton is from Meridian, Idaho.
