It can be daunting to transition from college to post graduation life, yet it becomes less challenging when you are not alone. We invite you to participate in our new Biology Alumni & Student Mentorship Program!
This pilot program pairs biology students with current alumni to help students explore career paths, prepare for life after graduation, and build confidence as they transition into the next stage of their journey. Whether your path has led you to an interest in research, healthcare, industry, education, or another area of the biological sciences, your connection with experienced mentors will make a lasting impact on your future.
About the Program
The mentorship program runs from September 18 through November 18, 2026, providing a meaningful yet manageable opportunity to connect with alumni over the course of one semester.
Extra Credit will be offered to all participants of the program. To receive full credit you will be required to complete a written reflection due no later than Friday, November 20, where you will demonstrate what you have learned during your mentoring session. More information about the extra credit will be provided during the program orientation, after you have been matched with a mentor.
What is the time commitment for the program? 5-6 hours over the semester
- Attend the orientation session on Tuesday, September 22, at 4:30 p.m. (MT). The on-campus location will be shared with participants after they are accepted into the program. If you absolutely cannot make that time, we will work with you.
- Meet with your Alumni mentor four times throughout the program (approximately 45–60 minutes per meeting).
- Complete a brief evaluation and reflection at the end of the program.
The mentoring conversations will focus on career exploration, strengths, professional growth, job search strategies, and building your professional identity. We’ll provide discussion prompts and resources to guide each meeting.
