Game Day Grant: Beautify Buster
Submitted by Shea Hart and Ciara Stone, this grant funds a new Buster mascot costume and updated game-day signage to boost school spirit and enhance the Boise State game day experience. Because Buster’s current uniform is more than 20 years old, these updates will create a more polished and engaging atmosphere at athletic and community events attended by students, alumni, families and community members. By improving crowd engagement at high-profile games with regional and national visibility, the grant will strengthen Boise State’s brand and traditions.

Nature Rx: Expanding Access to Outdoor Wellness Experiences for Boise State Students
This grant, submitted by Jordan Frank, supports student well-being by subsidizing Outdoor Program trips through the Nature Rx initiative. The program allows Boise State counselors to prescribe free outdoor wellness experiences for students experiencing stress, anxiety or other mental health challenges. Funding directly covers transportation, equipment, staffing and logistical expenses involved in planning and running these trips. With approximately $5,000 per semester, the program can help 60-75 students participate on a Outdoor Program trip.

Stop the Bleed Campaign
Submitted by the Boise State Student Nurses Association, represented by Marissa Ahuncain, this grant funds Stop the Bleed training kits and instructor certifications, allowing student nurses to provide free bleeding emergency response trainings to the campus community. The Stop the Bleed campaign aims to reduce preventable deaths from traumatic bleeding by equipping participants with the skills and confidence to act in life-threatening situations. Funding will support additional instructors and equipment, expanding the program’s reach and making it possible to host more sessions for students.

Supporting Students Facing Food Insecurity
This grant, submitted by Emily Hester, supports students by addressing food insecurity through the Meal Assistance Program. The program provides recipients with seven no-cost meal swipes through a Byte Plan to use during the semester, ensuring reliable access to nutritious meals. By reducing the stress of affording food, the initiative aims to improve student retention and help students focus on their academic success rather than worrying about their next meal.

Baja Development Club Establishment Grant
Submitted by Scott Higgins on behalf of the Baja Development Club, this grant expanded hands-on learning opportunities for engineering students. Funding provided essential resources for welding, machining and electronics, giving students practical experience that complemented their coursework while strengthening mentorship within the club. The initiative also extended beyond campus, using Baja vehicles to engage local K-12 students and spark interest in engineering and STEM fields. By investing in these efforts, the project enhanced career readiness, fostered innovation and strengthened Boise State’s role in experiential learning.

CPR Awareness Campaign

Mac and Cheese Fundraiser for Hunger Relief
This grant, submitted by Gracie Perkins, supported Alpha Gamma Delta’s efforts to combat food insecurity through its mac and cheese fundraiser. Funding was used to purchase ingredients, allowing the organization to maximize proceeds that support hunger relief initiatives. A portion of the funds raised was also donated to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which distributes resources to organizations working to fight hunger nationwide.

Feed the Funnel: Establishing the Legacy
This grant, submitted by Samina Oumar on behalf of Beta Alpha Psi, supported the annual Feed the Funnel event, an initiative focused on addressing food insecurity in the Treasure Valley and on campus. Funding helped the organization purchase shelf-stable food throughout the year, culminating in a large-scale meal packing event where volunteers assembled thousands of meals for distribution. The meals were donated to regional food banks, including Boise State’s Campus Food Pantry, expanding access to reliable nutrition for families and children in need.

Veteran Services Center

Campus Food Pantry
This grant supported the Boise State Campus Food Pantry in expanding access to nutritious food for students experiencing food insecurity. The pantry’s choice-style model — which allows students to select items without limits — helps reduce stigma while offering a wide variety of fresh, frozen and shelf-stable foods, as well as hygiene products.

Dance Marathon at Boise State
This grant supported Boise State’s Dance Marathon in launching its annual fundraising efforts for St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.
