Thank you for your interest in Boise State's Archaeology Field School for summer 2023. Enrollment is limited to 12 students, and students must apply to be considered. To apply, please fill out the application form below. At the end, you will be asked to attach a PDF copy of your unofficial transcript(s) and a one-page letter of interest that explains your reasons for applying to the field school and details your interests and experience in archaeology and your career objectives. The application deadline is
Monday, April 10, 2023.
Applications will be evaluated shortly thereafter and students will be notified a week after the deadline of their acceptance into the field school. Contact Dr. Allison Wolfe (awolfe@boisestate.edu) for any questions about the field school.

The field school will run approximately 8 hours/day Monday - Thursday for 6 weeks beginning Monday, May 8th and ending Thursday June 15th. Will you be able to attend every day of the field school?

Transportation Needs
For the first 4 weeks (May 8th-June 4th), we will be staying overnight (Monday-Thursday) in dorm-style accommodations at Celebration Park. Transportation will be provided from Boise State to the park on Monday morning, and back to Boise State on Thursday evening. Most students will be expected to ride with the group (there is limited parking for personal vehicles) and stay overnight, if they are able. But I understand that some students have circumstances that might prevent this. Please select the option that best describes your situation.

Field Work
Fieldwork during the field school will include archaeological excavation and survey. This involves physical activity (such as bending over, lifting heavy objects, hiking through uneven terrain, etc.) under variable conditions including exposure to insects, dust, intense sunlight, and temperature extremes, in areas where access to medical facilities may be limited.

Field School Scholarships
There are a limited number of competitive scholarships available to help offset the costs of the field school course fee. These scholarships are available to current Boise State Anthropology majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
