Biography

Rob Mann is an anthropological archaeologist with interests in indigenous archaeology, historical archaeology, archaeological theory, ethnohistory, and the North American fur trade. His research centers on the processes of colonialism and ethnogenesis. In the Great Lakes, his research has focused on the role of tobacco pipes and smoking in the daily lives of the Native and European participants in the fur trade. He is also a public archaeologist with interests in cultural resource management (CRM) and conflict archaeology.
