Niharika Dinkar

For the year 2013-2014, Niharika is a fellow at Forum Transregionale Studien, Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin.

Niharika Dinkar studied at the National Museum in New Delhi before completing her dissertation in South Asian Art History at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  Her work has focused on art and politics in nineteenth century South Asian painting and visual culture. Her research interests include postcolonial theory, gender studies and contemporary Asian art.

Her research has been presented at numerous national and international conferences and she has also worked in museums including the Asia Society in New York.  Her awards include fellowships from the Getty Foundation and the India Foundation for the Arts.
