Carson previously ran for AVPAA in the most recent ASBSU election and is still just as eager to take on this new role with confidence and dedication.

Former Vice President Kate Perkes released the following statement regarding her resignation:

“Studying abroad and traveling the world has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. After being awarded a scholarship that will allow me to make this dream a reality and embark on a study abroad experience in Spring 2026, I felt it was important to accept this opportunity with honor, gratitude, and excitement. With that, I have made the decision to step down from my position as Vice President to begin focusing and preparing for this experience starting in January.

As a student body leader, I encourage all students to seek out scholarships and opportunities that will enrich both their personal and professional growth. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and excited to continue growing as a person, leader, student, and friend through this incredible experience.”

Students inspired by Kate’s decision to study abroad are encouraged to explore similar global learning opportunities through Boise State’s Center for Global Engagement. The Global Learning office offers individualized advising, scholarship guidance, and support for every step of the process—from program selection to credit transfer and travel preparation.
