While students including me can’t name the titles of Dr. Woods’s numerous books or academic journal articles, we can say unequivocally: Dr. Woods cares about us, his students.”

She is compassionate and dedicated to her students, and she truly connects with them while remaining fair and ethical. She has not only won the golden apple in my book but has restored my faith in myself.”

  • Lisa Beymer

    College of Education

“She cares for all of her students not just as students, but as people and her actions truly speak to that. She is fair not only with her students, but with the community as she continually advocates and fights for access for people with disabilities. She expects not only equality, but more importantly equity and shows immense strength while doing so. Lisa shows respect to everyone, no matter who they are. Through the hours of working with her and being her student, I have seen how considerate she is of everyone and she really listens to my ideas. I feel heard by her, which I feel that not many undergraduate students can say about their professors.”
