Graduate Research Assistantships (PhD) Available
We are recruiting for Fall 2018 PhD graduate research assistantships (GRA) in the PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior and PhD in Computing with an emphasis in Computational Science and Engineering. Projects include:
Remote sensing of evapotranspiration and biodiversity in drylands
Vegetation dynamics modeling and coupling fire and land management
Improving forest-snow depth distribution modeling across scales with optical and lidar remote sensing
Development of novel analysis of full waveform lidar
The GRAs will have the opportunity to work with faculty across multiple academic departments including geosciences, computer science, biological sciences, math, and human-environment systems, present at national meetings, and become part of the Boise State University Boise Center Aerospace Laboratory (BCAL) remote sensing team.
We seek students with a strong quantitative science background and eagerness to develop and apply geospatial analysis. The ideal candidates will have a recent MS degree is geography, computer science, geoscience, ecology, or equivalent nature resources discipline, strong statistics, programming, and geospatial skills.
