Please note that the BME doctoral program at Boise State is a Ph.D. program and does not accept applications from students interested in an M.S. degree. Although no single field of undergraduate specialization is required for admission, applicants to the program should have an undergraduate degree that is appropriate to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/bme\/academics\/tracks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">study track(s)<\/a>&nbsp;of interest. Applicants must also satisfy the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/graduatecatalog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">minimum admission requirements<\/a> for the Graduate College, which includes having an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.00 (based on a 4-point scale).&nbsp;International applications must also satisfy the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/global-international\/international-admissions\/apply\/ia-international-graduate-admission\/#application-process-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">international admissions requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admission to the doctoral program is <em>competitive<\/em> and requires submission of the following application materials:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Official transcripts from all colleges attended<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A brief personal statement (no more than two pages) describing the applicant&#8217;s academic and professional background, research experiences and interests, career goals, and motivation for graduate study. This statement should clearly state the study track(s) of interest and <em>at least<\/em> one Ph.D. faculty member as a prospective advisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A current resume or curriculum vitae<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three letters of recommendation from academic or professional references that address your preparation for graduate study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) Official Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test scores. Although the GRE is optional, it is highly recommended for students who may have weaknesses in other areas (e.g. GPA, prior research experience) or have transcripts from international schools<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important<\/strong>: the Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. Program has a <em>zero-tolerance policy <\/em>regarding <strong>plagiarism<\/strong>. Applications that are found to contain plagiarized material will be denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-admission-decision\">Admission Decision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admission decisions will be made within four weeks after the application deadline. Admission to the program will be based on a number of factors including the applicant&#8217;s academic record and research potential. In cases where the review committee identifies academic deficiencies in an otherwise strong applicant, a provisional admission may be granted. If accepted into the program, applicants will receive information regarding any potential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/bme\/admissions\/funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">funding opportunities<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deadlines Deadlines to apply for fall admission:&nbsp;
