Facilitator: Dr. Bayard Gregory teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conflict management, negotiation, mediation, and group facilitation as Associate Director of the Dispute Resolution Program at Boise State. Bayard consults actively—presenting workshops, facilitating groups and mediating disputes.

Description: Within this training, you will learn how to help others manage conflict (by avoiding Communication Roadblocks). When people talk to us about problems with others or emotionally upsetting situations, we often respond in ways that make them feel more hurt or defensive. We’ll explore learning exercises that help identify a dozen “Communication Roadblocks,” how to avoid them, and what to do instead.

Facilitator: Denise Stringer -Employee Relations Specialist*

Description: This session introduces an approach to work and life that will transform each person’s briefest interactions into positive moments, and touches on how to provide positive reinforcement so that people feel appreciated and recognized.

*BIO*
Denise is a Human Resources professional with experience in employee engagement through employee relations, organizational development, talent management, recognition and rewards, instructional design, training and development, event management, and corporate citizenship. Denise is a returning employee to Boise State University’s Human Resources, and during her time away worked as a Human Resources/Recruiting Specialist at MAXIMUS for the Affordable Care Act Contract, and managing the Human Resources functions at AmeriBen. Denise is a Boise State University graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration – Human Resources.
