Amanda Ryan, Ph.D.

Dr. Ryan is an expert in craft beer and wine, with extensive experience as a beverage educator, brewer, operations manager, and beer judge. With over 20 years in various restaurant and management roles, she has worked at breweries and wineries across Oregon, New York, Massachusetts, and California. Her achievements include winning awards at homebrew competitions and being part of a team that earned a Silver Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in cognition and instruction and loves being able to share her passion for craft beer and wine with her students.
Alex Meyer

As a seasoned Brewmaster with over a decade of experience in craft brewing, quality assurance, and sustainability, Alex brings a deep understanding of brewing science and a passion for mentorship. His career includes overseeing production of over 30,000 BBL annually, spearheading new product development, and advancing environmental and social initiatives.
Michelle (Bassett) Prouty

Michelle Bassett Prouty is an adjunct wine instructor with a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and a passion for making wine education approachable, engaging, and inclusive. With a special interest in online learning, she brings dynamic virtual instruction to students of all levels, combining technical knowledge with real-world enthusiasm. Based in Idaho, Michelle is also the founder and organizer of Women Who Wine, a vibrant community group dedicated to connecting women through shared appreciation of wine, conversation, and local culture. Whether in the classroom or at the tasting table, Michelle is committed to fostering community and curiosity through wine one laugh at a time.
