Experiential Learning Employer Relations Representative

Hank Ebert

It was a privilege to join the Career Services team in August 2018. My role at Career Services, in partnership with colleagues at Boise State University, is to strengthen the talent pipelines of Treasure Valley employers by connecting them with Boise State students for internships, Work U, and other forms of experiential learning.

Prior experience includes almost 20 years as an economic and community development professional at the Idaho Department of Commerce and 14 years in administrative, public affairs and government relations roles in Idaho, New Mexico, and Washington, D.C.

I earned a Master of Public Administration at Boise State University in December 2003 and a Bachelor of Arts in International Environmental Studies at Cook College, Rutgers University in 1979. Also I graduated from the Economic Development Institute and the Northwest Community Development Institute, and was certified as a Professional Community & Economic Developer (PCED) until July 2018.

As the son of two diplomats, I was born in Brazil and lived in Latin America, southern Africa and Spain for most of my youth. My passions include sailing, traveling, reading, cooking, gardening and re-learning Portuguese with my wife.

My career and academic goals benefited tremendously from four state government internships in Idaho and New Jersey. I encourage employers seeking to create Work U opportunities and internships to contact me at (208) 426-5415 or henryebert@boisestate.edu.
