John May

Experiential Learning Coordinator

John May

I spent the first eighteen years of my life in Prosser, Washington. Small-town life was pleasant, but I longed for the urban experience. I relocated to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, earning my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy in 2014. I stumbled into the field of higher education after accepting a position with Columbia Basin College and spent a year working in the Registrar’s Office before making the leap to Boise. I can’t say I have any regrets about my decision!

I’ve been with Boise State Career Services since January of 2018 and it has been a terrific experience that has allowed me to grow not only professionally, but also in terms of the connections and friendships I have made.

One of the biggest perks of working at a university is the proximity to diverse learning opportunities and the encouragement to continue learning. I began my graduate school journey in July of 2018 and am working toward a Master of Public Administration (at the comfortable pace of one class a semester!)
