Kelsey Nelson

I am Boise born and raised and proud to be a part of the University that is so prominent in the community that I know and love.  I graduated from the College of Idaho in 2015, where I double-majored in Biology and Environmental Studies with a minor in Health Professions Studies. As a student, I was involved in nearly anything and everything – student ambassador council, Greek life officer, career center student employee, resident assistant, and more.  It was my work as a research assistant; however, that drew me to pursuing environmental research after graduation.  This passion for biology and ecology took me to Alaska and Texas, where I studied air quality, walrus, and sea lions (and did some animal training in the process!).

Although I enjoyed this career, I found that I missed supporting and working closely with others in the workplace. In 2017 I transitioned into higher education at my alma mater as the Student Success Coordinator in The Center for Experiential Learning. I joined Career Services at Boise State University in July of 2019 and have enjoyed every minute of it.

I feel lucky to have been welcomed to both Boise State University Career Services and the entire Boise State community. I have fallen in love with higher education and supporting students as they transition from students into workplace professionals. Career Services can help you in many ways, from career exploration, to resume development, to interview preparation, and much more. Don’t be afraid to get in touch!
