Megan Boatman

Hi! I’m Megan. I use she/her/hers pronouns. I’m a North Idaho native, born and raised in Moscow. I have two undergraduate degrees from the University of Idaho, a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising. I moved to Boise in 2008 to work in Public Relations and Advertising at Idaho’s oldest ad agency, Drake Cooper, where I stayed until late 2009. This was my first “real” job out of college, and was earned in part due to an internship I completed with them in 2004 when I was 19, which goes to show that experiential learning opportunities have incredible potential for your career!

In 2010 I started graduate school here at Boise State, pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication. While in graduate school I taught Communication 101 classes as a graduate teaching assistant. In May of 2014, I graduated from Boise State University and continued to serve as an adjunct for the Department of Communication, teaching 100 and 300 level classes. I joined the Career Services team in July of 2014 as a Career Success Advisor spent much of the next few years working one-on-one with students to help them achieve their professional goals and facilitating presentations about career development. I earned a Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate in 2015 and in the fall of 2017, began working specifically on the Work U program. I currently help manage the on-campus operations for the program, and serve as the lead instructor for the required classroom component.

My partner Bryan and I have two little boys, Jack and Patrick. Jack was born in August 2016 and Patrick joined our family in February 2019. I love to cook, travel, read, and entertain…but who was the time with these two little boys!?
