Drop in for quick career tips!

The Basics:

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Only when classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters
  • 15 minute session with a Career Center staff member
  • First come, first served

Preparing for Your Drop-In

You can drop in during the above times for any career-related question. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your 15 minutes based on what you need assistance with:

Resumes

Bring a copy of your resume and we will suggest edits to help make your resume stronger. For help getting started or for additional assistance, see our virtual workshop on resumes, or our resume handout.

Internships

Have questions about how internships work at Boise State, or how to find one? Start with our internship handout, then we can help you with questions about what kinds of internships you could do, where to look, and how to secure one.  We can also help you explore other types of experiential learning opportunities, such as Work U, volunteering, or involvement in student or professional organizations.

LinkedIn

We can help you strengthen your profile and show you tricks on how to get the most out of LinkedIn. Check out our LinkedIn resources.

Grad School Personal Statements

Bring a copy of your personal statement along with the specific instructions and prompts you were given. We can provide suggestions about content and organization, but please note that for writing style, grammar, or proofreading assistance, the Writing Center may be a better resource for you.

Interview Preparation

You’ll find a lot of tips in our virtual workshop on interviewing or our interviewing handout. We can answers the questions you have about preparing for an upcoming interview. If you would like to do a practice interview and receive feedback, please schedule an appointment.
