When asked to think of a common object that emits carbon monoxide, many people think of motor vehicles.\u00a0 But what about the emissions from boats?\u00a0 In 2006, a family died from carbon monoxide poisoning while on their boat at Dworshak Reservoir.\u00a0 \u00a0Could their deaths have been prevented if boat emissions were more regulated or if people had a higher awareness of boat emissions?\u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Dale Stephenson,\u00a0<\/strong>director of the Center for the Excellence for Environmental Health and Safety and the Environmental and Occupational Health program, thinks so.\u00a0 He and his students are conducting research to determine just how hazardous the carbon monoxide emissions from various motorboats are to users.\u00a0 Their summer research project was featured in the\u00a0<em>Idaho Business Review.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most people know that too much carbon monoxide in an enclosed space will kill a&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":272,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[264],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2112","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.2 (Yoast SEO v27.2) -
