Scholarships

The deadline for University and Departmental Scholarships is February 15. The deadline for Boise State Foundation Scholarships (with different qualification criteria) is March 15.

Priority deadline for both FAFSA and Scholarships: February 15.

You will be automatically considered for Chemistry Departmental Scholarships based on your completed General Scholarship Application. However, there are some additional requirements for the Departmental Scholarships; these should be detailed in the links above. They are also listed here for your information:

If you are pursuing a Chemistry and Biochemistry degree and want to be considered for Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry scholarships you must complete the general scholarship application.

Requirements:

Must be an undergraduate degree-seeking student pursuing a degree in Chemistry. In order to receive an award you must be enroll as a full-time student (12 undergraduate credits) and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Scholarships awards are competitive. Some awards are also based on demonstrated financial need. To be considered for any need-based awards, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the appropriate year.

Steps

  1. Submit your Academic Advisement Report (AAR) if you are a continuing Boise State student or an unofficial transcript if you are a new or transfer student.
  2. Attach a resume listing your high school or university chemistry-related activities, honors and past scholarships.
  3. Attach a brief essay including your career goals and how a Chemistry and Biochemistry scholarship will assist you in meeting your goals.

Please upload all documents as a single word or PDF document (8 MB max file size). Make sure to name the document with your name. The name of the file cannot contain any special characters. Please make sure your full name and student ID number are on the header of each page.

As a student with a declared major from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, you may be qualified for Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry scholarships – even if you haven’t qualified before.

Apply for Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year.

The Boise State Scholarship Application is open now until February 15, 2020. Some scholarships may require financial need, and to be considered you need to file the 2021 FAFSA.

The sooner you complete the FAFSA and apply for scholarships, the earlier you’ll know when scholarships might be available to you.

Simply answer the general questions and then complete the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholarships Application under your recommended scholarships.
