Art Department Alumnus Earns Prestigious Guggenheim Fellow

Congratulations to Boise State University alumnus Ron Jude for being named a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow. Jude earned his BFA in studio art from Boise State University College of Arts and Sciences in 1988.

His photographs have been exhibited worldwide in venues including the Getty Museum (Los Angeles), The Photographers’ Gallery (London), Daugeu Cultural Center (South Korea), Proekt_Fabrika (Moscow) and Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago).

John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowships are appointed to individuals who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts. Jude was among 3,000 scholars, artists, and writers who competed for the 168 fellowships.

Jude was raised in rural Idaho, lives, and works in Eugene, Oregon, where he is a professor of art at the University of Oregon.
