Spring 2026 Commencement Speaker and Student Marshal for the College of Arts and Sciences
Students in the College of Arts and Sciences who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to apply for consideration to be the college’s nominee for Commencement Student Speaker or be selected as the college’s Student Marshal. Completing the application form will allow the applicant to be considered for both opportunities.

Submit your application using the form on this page. Carefully review the details for your letter of recommendation, application video and unofficial transcript.
Eligibility requirements differ for graduate applicants and undergraduate applicants. Review those carefully on our Commencement Student Opportunities page.
Letter of recommendation
You will need to upload your letter as a PDF file.
Your letter of recommendation should be written by someone (e.g. faculty member) who can share how you are known to your college (College of Arts and Sciences), your department or ASBSU and can speak to your ability to be a positive role model and can describe your public speaking skills/experience.
If your letter of recommendation is not yet ready, in the application section requesting your letter of recommendation, please submit a document that contains your name and the name and email address of the person who will be writing your letter of recommendation.
The letter of recommendation can be submitted separately via email to COAS-StudentSuccess@boisestate.edu no later than Sunday, March 22.
Student speaker applicant video guidelines
Video duration: 1 minute 45 seconds to 2 minutes
You will need to provide a link to your uploaded video. We advise using Google Drive. Remember to change your settings so the committee can view it.
Help the committee understand what you intend to deliver to a broad and dynamic commencement audience. Pitch us your speech. What is the story you want to share with your graduates?
