Dongdi (Grace) Gu joined Boise State’s Department of Accountancy as an assistant professor in 2026. She earned her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas, and holds a Master of Accountancy and a BBA in Accounting/International Business from the University of Georgia.

Before coming to Boise State, Dr. Gu spent time as a visiting assistant professor at UT Dallas, where she taught Introductory Financial Accounting and Accounting Information Systems. Her path to academia wasn’t a straight line, though — she spent several years in industry first, working in risk advisory consulting at Ernst & Young and IT compliance at Crawford & Company. Dr. Gu’s research looks at how public monitoring shapes corporate behavior, with a focus on ESG performance and government transparency.

Outside the classroom, Dr. Gu is a devoted college football fan — a lifelong Georgia Bulldog now cheering on the Broncos. She enjoys staying active through badminton and tennis, and is a passionate dancer, with a love for both ballroom and Chinese traditional
dance.
