Jared joined Boise State University in 2024 as an assistant professor in the Department of Accountancy. Prior to joining Boise State, he taught at Northeastern University. He earned his Ph.D. in accounting at Boston College, and his masters and bachelors degrees in accounting at Brigham Young University, where he also minored in economics.
Jared’s research explores voluntary disclosure and information intermediaries in capital markets, aiming to understand the incentives and consequences surrounding managerial disclosure choices and their interactions with analysts and investors. His research has been published in one of the top academic journals in accounting, the Journal of Accounting Research.
Outside of his academic work, Jared enjoys exploring with his wife and two children and playing any sport, especially basketball and running. He plans to one day qualify for the Boston Marathon.
