Boise State’s CTMBA Mentorship Program Empowers Future Business Leaders
The Boise State University Career Track MBA (CTMBA) Mentorship Program kicked-off the fall semester, providing an opportunity for second-year CTMBA students to serve as mentors for the incoming first-year cohort. Through a student led initiative, second-year students offered guidance, shared insights from their academic and professional experiences, and supported their mentees in navigating the challenges of the program.
The program pairs second-year CTMBA students with incoming first-year students, based on their field of degree, hobbies and professional interests, intentionally fostering and creating meaningful mentorship relationships that bridge the transition between academic learning and professional growth.
Over lunch, mentorship pairs planned their schedules, exchanged advice about coursework, and explored strategies for balancing professional responsibilities with the program’s demanding curriculum. As well as insights into how to make the most of Boise State’s extensive professional network and experiential learning opportunities.
For mentors, the experience is equally rewarding. Many view the program as an opportunity to give back, strengthen their leadership and coaching skills, and contribute to the collaborative culture that defines Boise State’s CTMBA.
Trisha Stevens-Lamb, Senior Director of the CTMBA and Specialized Graduate Programs, highlighted the mentorship program’s lasting academic and professional impact. “The CTMBA Mentorship Program reflects the supportive, collaborative culture we value at Boise State,” she said. “Our second-year students show strong leadership by helping new students transition with confidence, creating connections that strengthen our community long after graduation.”
As the 2025–2026 academic year unfolds, mentorship pairs will continue to meet throughout to track progress, celebrate achievements, and support each other’s personal and professional goals, demonstrating the CTMBA program’s ongoing commitment to leadership, collaboration, and community.
Boise State’s full-time CTMBA is specifically designed to train young professionals to be successful in the business world and provide them with the real-world tools they need on the job.There is no business background or work experience required to be considered for admission.
