Connecting Tomorrow’s Talent with Today’s Industry Leaders

For CTMBA students at Boise State University, the COBE Lightning Talk was more than an event, it was an opportunity to step inside the world of business and connect directly with the leaders shaping it. From fostering collaboration, to gaining industry insight, members of the CTMBA cohorts came together to focus on shared learning, broadening their understanding of the current corporate landscape and strategically position themselves for future success.

The COBE Lightning Talk, empowered students in their career development, providing with the unique opportunity of having direct access to recruiters and leaders in the industry, each story highlighted not only what it takes to build a successful company, but also the qualities they seek in future leaders, giving students a cutting-edge advantage to the best practices and cultures that lead to industry excellence.

With Boise State University’s four prominent employer partners: Simplot, City of Boise, Micron, and CED, The Lightning Talks, crafted to foster connections through the exploration of mission values, discovering diverse career paths, and a comprehensive overview of business strategies. In addition to meeting employers, students partnered with their peers across cohorts, exchanging advice and expanding their knowledge of the current corporate landscape.

This event gave participants an insider look into organizational values and daily operations from a variety of leading industries within the Boise business community, with the hope of students leaving, knowing how to better pave their way to accelerate a path towards securing internships or full – time positions, turning action and ambition into opportunity.
