Christy Suciu judges innovation and entrepreneurship in teaching at conference

Christy Suciu, a lecturer in the Department of Management, served as a judge for the fifth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teaching Excellence Awards at the 14th European conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Kalamata, Greece. The conference and awards were hosted by the University of Peloponnese.

Suciu is excited by the advancement of innovative teaching.

“All over the world, there are so many fantastic initiatives for innovative teaching. The top three winners were from Switzerland, Hong Kong and United Arab Emirates,” said Suciu, “and China just passed an initiative that project-based learning is essential… no more one-way lectures to students.”

The award winners were:

First place: Patrick Link, Rene Zeier and Valentina Fontana; LUASA – Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland
Smart-Up – How to Foster Entrepreneurial Thinking and Acting at a University

Second place: Hongyi Sun, City University of Hong Kong, China
The PIPE Model for Experiential Education of Discovery, Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Third place: Al Abbadi Maysam, United Arab Emirates University, UAE
