Major
The entrepreneurship major is appropriate for students who may wish to start their own business someday, work in a family-owned business, or work for smaller businesses.
Through key courses like Entrepreneurial Skills, New Venture Creation, Managing an Emerging Business, students learn fundamental knowledge to build and grow a business.
Look at Eric Torres-Garcia, creator of Cocoa Bombs, while although an international business major, his entrepreneurship classes really helped him. Eric learned accounting, marketing and all the general things you need to start a business. And, it was entrepreneurship professor Kent Neupert whom he turned to for help when he had 1000 orders for Cocoa Bombs having only ever made just one. “I owe Dr. Neupert a lot, and Boise State…. None of this would have been possible had I not been at Boise State,” Torres-Garcia said.
The Entrepreneurship Management BBA program qualifies for Idaho LAUNCH. Idaho LAUNCH by Next Steps Idaho, is an education and training grant program that provides Idaho students a one-time scholarship for 80% of the tuition and fees for select in-demand career programs – up to a maximum amount of $8,000.
Minor
The minor includes 18 credits of upper division Entrepreneurship, Management, and other COBE upper division courses.

I Got Help
Entrepreneurship management major Alex Safiran’s passion for cars and art led him to selling custom shirts to other car enthusiasts. This start-up was a self-proclaimed failure. When Alex lost his job due to COVID, he figured it was a good time to give a business another shot. He sought help from COBE faculty and Dream Driven Apparel was born.
“[A management faculty member] made himself available to me online for class work questions and I told him about my business I just started and he really started helping me push it further. He met with me quite often and helped me set challenging but achievable goals,” said Alex. “Even after I completed his class, he still met with me to discuss improving my business.”
