Each year, students from Boise State University nominate professors from each college across the university who go above and beyond classroom expectations. The prestigious Golden Apple Award is presented by Associated Students of Boise State University (ASBSU). Each college awards one Golden Apple each year, and the students themselves vote on which professor should receive the award.

After spending his professional career working for fortune 500 firms such as Ford Motor Company and Con-way Freight, Bill decided to pursue his passion for teaching. Prior to joining Boise State University, Bill taught as an adjunct for ten years at Eastern Michigan University. He has been with the Boise State Marketing Department since 2016.

One student who nominated Bill stated, “Bill is a remarkable and memorable professor and I feel confident any person who attends his class would feel as though they could drop into his office anytime to receive further guidance.  He truly cares about his students and wants to give them the opportunity to succeed.”

After learning he won the Golden Apple award, Bill stated, “I teach because I want to make a difference by sharing my experiences and life lessons with the future generations of business leaders. To me, teaching is a privilege and all about giving back to the community.  I am truly humbled to receive this recognition.”
