Text Transcript: Why study international business?

[Speaking in French]

International Business is the best major on campus, especially in COBE. And if anybody’s on the fence, it’s definitely the spot to be.

Growing up, my mom was a flight attendant, so we like we tended to travel a lot and I was exposed to a lot of different cultures and languages and just kind of seeing how stuff just happened in other countries, and I fell in love with it.

There’s definitely a kind of a deeper inner inner side of me that loves just like the world and loves seeing that connect with business. Um, and I think they go really hand in hand. And I think they go more in hand in hand than most people realize.

My interest in international business started as a student when I was studying international business and then when I studied abroad in Scotland and then later in China and Japan.

Through international business as a major specifically I had the opportunity to study in Medellín, Colombia.

I was able to study abroad in Paris last spring which was really amazing.

After my freshman year, I did a summer study abroad to Costa Rica, actually. And that was one of the highlights of my college.

I think especially for Americans, we we’re the center of the universe. We are USA, you know, and I think there’s so much more to everything.

I think that international business is so broad. Not just business, but it can open your eyes up to how business really affects everybody, not just within the US.

Whether you’re trying to get avocados for your food truck or you’re trying to put gasoline in your own truck or you’re Micron trying to sell your your chipsets abroad, international business matters.

I wish that these classes were taught to everybody. If anybody is on the fence about it, or even 10% considering it, I say, just do it. I

f you want more options and you want something abroad and you don’t know exactly what you want to do yet, but you know you’re interested in business, I think this would be a really beneficial major for you.

Everyone’s welcome to take an international business class and join our international business community.
