Applied Business Minor and Certificate

With a 12-credit certificate or an 18-credit applied business minor, you will develop the necessary competencies to run a business!

Small business owners, entrepreneurs, and non-business majors are encouraged to register for an applied business certificate or minor through the College of Business and Economics.

Applied business courses are flexible, manageable, and delivered entirely online. It’s easy to enhance your current or previous field of study with a business minor or certificate at the College of Business and Economics.

Build Applied Business Skills

Foundational business skills are necessary to succeed in any career. Students gain practical skills through business plan development and customizable courses, learning from experienced instructors.

  • Learn to lead and manage people and teams (BUSBTC 310 Creating Value with People)
  • Learn to develop, sell, and deliver products and services (BUSBTC 320 Creating Value with Customers)
  • Learn how to use accounting, financial, and economic data to measure and manage profitability and investments (BUSBTC 330 Creating Value Through Investment)

Students also complete a team-based capstone course which integrates business competencies, leadership skills, and career management.
