The College of Business and Economics nominated Allen Dykman for international recognition in the AACSB Influential Leaders program. AACSB selects only 25 honorees each year. This year, Dykman was among those chosen for this significant accomplishment. His selection speaks highly of his leadership success and his give-back nature. Dykman has been a great contributor to Boise State (read his impressive service record) and a special friend to COBE.
He and his wife Dixie have created the Dykman Athletic Scholarship for business majors, which provides a steady stream of financial support to student-athletes at Boise State. Year after year, Dykman also sponsors the COBE golf tournament that benefits COBE student scholarships.
He was an early and generous donor to the business building fund that provided funding for the Dykman Financial Trading Room in the Micron Business and Economics Building. The resource provides finance students access to a wealth of technological tools. It includes nine individually licensed Bloomberg terminals, allowing students to use the same data, research, analytics and news that industry professionals employ, giving them real-time access to learning about Wall Street. One year after the Micron Business and Economics Building opened, Dykman provided the funds to purchase and install a state-of-the-art digital stock ticker display for the trading room.
Moreover, he hires our graduates. Dykman has welcomed many Boise State graduates into the family business — Dykman Electrical, Inc., headquartered in Boise–and mentors them to become leaders within the company.
The College of Business and Economics is extremely grateful for all that the Dykmans have done to propel the college forward, and we congratulate him on receiving this award.
