John Williamson, director of the COBE Funding Accelerator, was quoted in an Idaho Business Review article about Idaho companies that attended the Investors Choice Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is not unusual for Idaho companies to attend the Utah event, but this was the largest proportion of Idaho startups — 10 or the 20 participants were from Idaho.
Williamson’s comment in the article was related to the funding success for conference attendees.
“On a regional basis, early-stage entrepreneurs who present at Investors Choice have a high probability of raising investment capital,” Williamson said. “Nearly 70% of these firms will find success in the 12 to 18 months. More impressive is that 80% of firms who raise money stand the test of time and become sustainable enterprises that deliver years of economic impact to an economy.”
