Luke Henken and Maggie Hyde, two Boise State MBA students, co-founded Built in Idaho, a new digital community. Working with Alturas, a local investment company, the MBA candidates launched Built in Idaho during Boise Startup Week in October 2020. Henken and Hyde collaborated with many community organizations like the Idaho Technology Council, Boise Startup Week, Trailhead, Boise Venture College, StageDotO and others on the project.
On the Built in Idaho website, users can access Idaho Deal Flow reports and data going back 10 years, a curated library of resources and an aggregated business event calendar. Built in Idaho also has a newsletters (sign up on the website) to inform community members about investments, deal flow activity, events, and business news in Idaho.
“Our ultimate goal is to help connect Idaho’s small and large business owners to resources; whether that is financial, human capital, or technical knowledge,” said Hyde. “We have a few exciting initiatives in the works, including an intern bench to help fill local job and internship openings with Idaho talent.
Henken is managing programs and new initiatives at Built in Idaho and Hyde focuses on product, marketing, and communication. Luke earned his bachelor’s at University of Puget Sound and is currently a second-year Career Track MBA student.
