Is there a business living-learning community on campus?

Yes. Boise State offers themed living-learning communities for first-year students, including one for business students. It’s a chance to live with peers who share your interests, take classes together and connect with faculty mentors right in your residence hall.

What kind of student clubs or organizations can I join?

Boise State’s College of Business offers more than a dozen clubs for nearly every interest—an award-winning Beta Alpha Psi chapter, Investment Banking Club, Professional Sales Team, Women in Business and Business Analytics Service Experience (BASE). These organizations host competitions, guest speakers, service projects and networking events that help you build both skills and connections and give you the opportunity for leadership experience.

What kind of events or networking opportunities are there for business students?

Students can attend career fairs, guest speakers, company visits, case competitions and professional networking nights. Employers and alumni are on campus often, giving you plenty of chances to build connections before graduation.

What resources are available for students who want to start their own business?

Boise State’s Venture College helps students test startup ideas, connect with mentors and even secure funding. You can also participate in College of Business programs like pitch competitions, startup incubator programs like Sandbox, and classes focused on entrepreneurship.

Support and collaboration (classes and faculty)

How big are the classes in the business program?

Introductory classes may have more than 100 students, but most upper-division business courses average 35-40 students. Specialized major classes often have even fewer students. This keeps classes engaging while still giving you access to peers, teamwork and faculty support.

How accessible are professors and support staff in the business school?

Professors and advisors are approachable and easy to reach. Many have office hours, reply quickly to emails and genuinely enjoy mentoring students. Support staff are also available for tutoring and career guidance, and business students are required to meet with an advisor before registering for classes each semester to make sure they stay on track for graduation.

Is the learning environment competitive or collaborative?

Boise State’s business school leans collaborative. Students often work in teams, share resources, and help each other succeed. The culture encourages cooperation while still preparing you to compete in the business world.

Where can I find help? (Advising, tutoring and building)

What resources are available for academic or career support?

You’ll have access to specialized support through the College of Business and Economics tutoring center, Thompson Family Writing Lab, business-specific COBE Career Services and academic advising all housed inside the business building.
