Interdisciplinary Studies +Business
Maddux Madsen video transcript
I’m Maddox Madsen. I play quarterback here at Boise State. My major will be interdisciplinary professional studies with certificates in leadership, innovation and design, as well as my plus business minor.
I was talking with my buddies the other day and I feel like Plus Business has allowed me to like open up a LinkedIn like as simple as that. It’s kind of cool. I’ve been able to interact with different businesses that I never thought I’d be able to and I can take a lot from Plus Business and how to communicate. just messaging big time name brands of like, hey, like would you guys want to do a deal or something like that?
I personally believe that Plus Business does complement everything. I’m a big fan of relationships and communication with people and I feel like that’s a huge deal and Plus Business offers that.

Criminal Justice +Business
Sam Pederson video transcript
My name is Samantha Pederson and I am a criminal justice student and I’ll be graduating in May 2026.
I was originally thinking going into being a police officer or an FBI agent coming into college, but then I realized I would like a plan B. So, I decided, well, what could I have as a minor that would set me up for success in the long run? So, I started looking up business and I was going to do the major. And then I realized I could just do the minor for 18 credits and be able to have that skill set.
I would say the program’s really just set me up for success in many different ways. I can now apply it to different foundations of my life. Starting a business, going into interviewing, networking, all of it comes together to make who I am currently.
“The most valuable part of my Plus Business experience has been the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned directly to real-world projects…It’s made the learning experience feel purposeful and directly tied to my career growth.”

Pre-Law +Business
Emma Horvath video transcript
My name is Emma Horvath. I’m a criminal justice major and I’m a sophomore here at Boise State. I chose Plus Business because I wanted something to kind of round out and strengthen my criminal justice degree because I’m planning to go to law school after I graduate. In a way, the criminal justice system in the US is kind of like its own business. So, there’s a lot of concepts that I’ve been able to apply to that. I like how like fast-paced they are because I feel like we get a lot of content in one week. It’s not just having to do busy work or stuff like that. Like, we’re actually learning really important things every week, which I like.
Last week, I had a job interview with a local attorney here in Boise, and I told him that I’m minoring in business, and he highly encouraged it. He said that this is really going to help me when I go to law school. So, that’s been like a huge opportunity to come out of this, and like now I’m going to be able to get an internship through him or potentially a job later down the line. So stuff like that has been an incredible opportunity through Plus Business.
“I wasn’t sure what I was wanting to do after graduating, I had no career path in mind. I wanted to broaden my horizons and explore new possibilities. This was a way to link my major with an actual career field instead of just being open ended.”
