Description

The College of Engineering at Boise State University seeks to recognize students who have demonstrated commitment to developing as a researcher or in creative work while pursuing their undergraduate degree. Students completing requirements for the College of Engineering (COEN) Undergraduate Research Scholar Designation (URSD) will be recognized at an end of semester recognition ceremony for the department of your major. You will receive a certificate and an orange honor cord from the Dean’s Office to wear at commencement.

Deadline

FALL Semester. December 1*

SPRING Semester. May 1*

* Deadline is the following Monday if these dates fall over a weekend.

Requirements

  1. Two semesters of research. Two semesters of research with a Boise State University faculty research mentor.
  2. Presentation. Present your research or creative work at a conference such as:
    a. Spring Undergraduate Research Showcase
    b. Idaho Conference on Undergraduate Research
    c. College of Engineering Senior Showcase
    d. Other local, state, national, or international research conference
  3. Publication. Publish your research to a conference or in a journal. This can include the abstract published in the conference program at which your research or creative work was presented.

Application

Apply during the semester in which you will graduate. You will be asked to provide verification of the requirements listed above.

Complete the Application Form, indicating two semesters of research or creative work and the faculty mentor(s) with whom you worked. A verification request will be sent to the faculty mentor(s) listed in your application.
