About Xinyi Zhou
Bio
Dr. Xinyi Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Boise State University, where she directs the Machine Intelligence and Data (MIND) Lab. Previously, she was a postdoctoral scholar in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science and Engineering from Syracuse University.
Dr. Zhou develops methods in machine learning (including deep learning and generative AI), data science, and human-AI interaction to build trustworthy, multimodal, human-centered AI systems with real-world impact in domains such as health, human learning, and work. Her research has appeared in leading journals such as CSUR and conferences including WWW and CHI. She has also organized tutorials at venues such as KDD. She serves as Co-Chair of the WSDM 2026 Doctoral Consortium, on program committees for multiple top AI conferences, and reviews for journals including TPAMI, TKDE, and TOIS.
