| Gunes Uzer, PhD Associate Professor gunesuzer@boisestate.edu Dr. Uzer is the director of the Mechanical Adaptations Laboratory, focused on identifying relevant components of mechanical signals that modulate a wide variety of musculoskeletal functions. In his free time Dr. Uzer enjoys anything technology and outdoor sports. |  |
| Sean Howard, PhD Researcher and Lab Manager seanhoward@boisestate.edu Sean obtained his PhD. from City of Hope, California and held an EMBO post-doctoral fellowship at Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Switzerland before Joining MAL. His current research interests focus on understanding how mechanical signals regulate nuclear envelope function in mesenchymal stem cells. |  |
| Anamaria Zavala, PhD Principal Research Scholar anamariazavala@boisestate.edu Anamaria obtained her PhD. from Johns Hopkins University and held post doctoral positions in Washington State University and University of Idaho before Joining MAL. Her research interests focus on DNA repair and chromatin organization in mesenchymal stem cells. |  |
| Scott Birks Graduate Student scottbirks@u.boisestate.edu Scott completed his BS in Chemistry with a Biochemistry specialization from Central Washington University in 2014. Until joining graduate school he worked in antibody industry. He is currently working on how stem cell structure regulates their mechanosignaling. Outside of the lab interests include playing piano and anything outdoors, especially hiking. |  |
| Matthew Goelzer Graduate Student matthewgoelzer@u.boisestate.edu Matthew Graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2017 with an undergraduate degree in Biology where he researched the use of CRISPR as a potential cancer treatment. Matthew is working on stem cell nuclear organization and fate selection. In his spare time Matthew enjoys backpacking, snowshoeing, and cooking. |  |
| Alexander Regner Graduate Student alexanderregner@u.boisestate.edu Alex completed his BS in Mechanical engineering and currently is a graduate student in Materials Science and Engineering. He works on replicating bone marrow mechanics and teaches fluid mechanics in his spare time. |  |
| Madison Goldfeldt Graduate Student madisongoldfeldt@u.boisestate.edu Madison graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department in 2021 as a part of accelerated MS program and now joined to the lab as a graduate student. Madison works on computational models to predict intracellular forces on cell nucleus. |  |
